Summer:
During CFCC's summer semester, the C-TECH Academy will host a cohort of students. Participants will visit the CFCC Wilmington Campus Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Each day, students will be trained on laboratory basics, focusing on wet chemistry techniques and introductory organic synthesis. Laboratory experiments (that require more than one day to complete) will be introduced throughout their time on campus. Details can be found on the "Learning Objectives" post. The session will serve as a discovery period that will highlight multiple facets of the laboratory science field. The C-TECH Academy's schedule will include a one-hour lunch period (provided to all students who pre-register for the event).
Fall & Spring:
Throughout the academic year, eight meetings dates will be planned. These meetings dates will be designed around more involved laboratory training sessions that are topic-specific and will feature analytical instrumentation. Four meeting dates will be scheduled during CFCC's fall semester (August - December) and the remaining four dates will be scheduled during the spring semester (January - May). These dates will typically be scheduled on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm and will include a one-hour lunch break (provided to all pre-registered students). TO MAXIMIZE THE BENEFIT OF THE C-TECH ACADEMY, STUDENT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD STRIVE TO MEET ALL MEETINGS PLANNED THROUGHOUT THE FALL, SPRING, AND SUMMER SEMESTERS.
